Jazz Trumpet
Jayden Titus is a Jazz trumpeter and composer based in The Tampa Bay area and was originally born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he spent part of his childhood. He is new to the Jacksonville area where he will begin a fresh journey pursuing a Masters of Music in Music Performance with a concentration in Jazz Studies at the University of North Florida School of Music. Jayden earned his Bachelor’s in Jazz Studies at the University of South Florida. With a little over a decade of deep focus in the art form—a journey started by listening to Miles Davis’s Miles Ahead album all the way back in 7th grade of middle school —Jayden draws inspiration from legends like Kenny Dorham or Clifford Brown and modern innovators like Marquis Hill and Roy Hargrove. Known for his joyful commitment to performance and composition, he aims to continuously evolve as a musician and lean into what makes him unique as a contemporary jazz artist.
Saxophone
Geovani Prats is a third-year student at the University of North Florida, where he is pursuing a degree in Jazz Studies under the tutelage of Todd DelGiudice. As a South Florida native, Geovani’s musical journey has been shaped by the mentorship of accomplished musicians, including Billy Cofrances, Mark Green, and Al Hager. Their guidance has helped foster his growth as a musician and deepen his passion for jazz.
Following graduation, Geovani plans to continue his education and ultimately pursue a career teaching music at the collegiate level, where he hopes to inspire and mentor the next generation of musicians. Outside of music, he enjoys going to the gym, watching baseball, and reading philosophy. His dedication to his craft, commitment to continued learning, and diverse interests continue to keep him inspired, focused, and motivated as he works toward his future goals.

Created in 2009, the Jacksonville Jazz Society (JJS) is a volunteer, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, membership organization, dedicated to the preservation, promotion, and presentation of various styles of traditional and contemporary jazz music. We support live events, broadcasts, and collaborate with various Jazz and educational organizations.
Through the establishment of our Wayne Barlow Scholarship Award, we offer annual financial scholarships to talented high school seniors and college students pursuing excellence in jazz performance and studies.
